How it Works
Document Manager is essential for managing and converting paper charts into electronic media. Clients can scan in documents, manage incoming faxes, and/or import Word documents into a patient’s record to create paperless charts. This eliminates lost charts and helps to achieve easier compliance with chart requests and audits.

This application provides integrated patient records with ProgNote/MobileLink system. And unlike paper charts, Document Manager also allows multiple users to simultaneously access the patient’s electronic chart.

Document Manager takes the Venali Fax application and imports the incoming document into a SQL database for the Patient Management System. From there, the document is available for viewing, printing and faxing from anywhere in the system. The documents can also be edited and saved if necessary. Then they are encrypted and stored.

Because of the electronic system, there is no need for a recipient to be waiting for the fax. This helps keep patients charts up-to-date, even after office hours. Because of the confidential nature of the material being sent, the sender can feel confident that the fax will be received by the correct recipient.

The single most important benefit of electronic health records is their ability to put information in a health care provider's hands at the moment he or she is making decisions about a patient's care. While the effort to computerize health care may seem costly, it should offer a huge return on investment with improved safety, quality and efficiency.
