Fax Desktop Solutions and Internet Fax Production Solutions
flexible solutions that accelerate growth and
time to revenue
Overview
Venali's client, one of the largest direct marketers and the fifth-largest
private-passenger auto insurance company in the U.S., ranks among the
few major insurers that still make auto insurance the backbone of their
business.
In addition to auto coverage, the company's offerings include motorcycle
insurance and emergency road service. The company is also the 10th largest
property/casualty insurer in the U.S. with assets over $10 billion. In
the U.S. alone, this company has almost 5 million policyholders and over
7 million autos insured. Sales are close to US $7 billion and revenue
growth is far greater than other top insurers in the nation.
This company employs more than 17,000 associates nationwide with 5 regional
offices and 4 service centers throughout the U.S., and international operations
in Asia and Europe.
Key Issues
With over 8,000 desktop users throughout the U.S. and production volume
reaching 500,000 per month, Venali's client needed a flexible IP (Internet
Protocol) fax messaging solution which could keep up with the growing
demands and requirements of the company. The company chose IP fax early
on because it offers a cost-efficient, secure
and reliable method for corporate communications that doesn't require
new capital investment and associated maintenance costs.
Due to the vast number of policyholders, an enormous amount of legal paperwork
is generated, which is primarily communicated as fax traffic between branch
offices. The company required a record of all corporate document transmissions
for business and legal purposes, and a way to process this information
more efficiently. Although an IP fax solution was in place for a number
of years, the company needed an IP fax vendor who could deliver optimal
service for desktop solutions in a time-efficient manner - something the
previous IP fax vendor was unable to provide.
Additionally, the company is in the process of developing a web service
involving fax messaging that requires a
high level of customization and flexibility. The company formulated a
strategy to automate insurance information requests from customers that
would improve their bottom line. A web service that could generate information
requests as faxes via the Internet would save the company $4 per service
call vs. a web service that cost virtually pennies per request.
The Venali Solution
The company selected Venali over other competitors who offered an IP fax
solution because it provided an easy
to implement and scalable method for a rapidly growing user base. Venali
was able to accommodate the company's needs by providing a smooth, seamless
integration into their existing email system, and provided a way for customer
service representatives to store transaction information.
The web service currently under development involves automating information
requests from customers through the company's website. The data requested
would be pulled from the company's mainframe legacy application, repackaged
and submitted as a fax or email, or both if desired using XML standards.
This web service will deliver tremendous short- and long-term cost savings
for the company.
Within a week, Venali was able to
accomplish a scalable IP desktop fax solution that would have taken months
for the company's previous provider to fulfill.
